Third time lucky and the show is going to be held in South Brisbane and one I am looking forward to attending and DRIVING myself home this time!
Bad Little Buggers had organised overnight stays with Beaudesert Caravan and Tourist Park; which I am really pleased they did!
Had a great little spot out front close to the all the amenities and enough space to get the music on without annoying anyone with the company of a few arvo drinks.
Food setup for the night was staying simple with a lamb kofta and a couple of toasted wraps as i just rested up over the course of the night. The Ridge Monkey is the perfect cooking aid for this type of food, i’ll do a review at some point on them. Though for now my pan and one burner stove was all what was needed to see the evening in.
Got to the show with no drama at all and managed to met up with Dale from Malcolm Engineering who produces some of the best bespoke products for Kombi’s and so many more things. It was great catching up as we have not spoken since the joy of Covid and he was showing me probably my next new toy that i will be buying from him! If you have not heard of Dale or seen his work, I highly recommend you checking him out.
Interesting story behind Valley of the Dubs for me. The show at Daybro in 2021 broke me quite a bit and ended with me being driven home in the back of my Kombi, before transferring into an Ambo and my first experiences of the ‘Green Pen’. I wish I could remember the joys of it!
With the obstacles of C19 doing its best then when the Bad Little Buggers managed to over come that hurdle, La Nina came into town and stopped the show occurring..
I called the site to make sure I could get on before heading to site and spoke with a lovely lady called Kat. The site was full though she told me to head down and the would fit me on. I got a great site and it was powered too! Booking in Kat got me the address of the show the following day and couldn’t have made me feel more welcome! Great start to an over nighter.
As the beautiful sunset fell over the Scenic Rim, I waited till dust had finished, I went inside and started to watch the Jason Bourne boxset.
Enjoying the rest of the evening I settled down for an early start to get to the show before the convoys arrived to avoid the joy of booking on with a fair few more behind you.
Didnt really get any photos of the show at all as there were mates of old and a lot of new folk I started chatting to which just ran on till the end of the show. This is why I enjoy this show, I find this one to be really friendly and engaging. Bad Little Buggers put on the very first show I attended in Australia and I always enjoy turning out to this one.
Easy cruise home once I managed to get past the steam powered lorry!
